X.509 Certificates
ARIN accepts X.509-signed template transactions as authentic communication from authorized Points of Contact (POCs). A certificate is a digital document that binds a 'key pair' to a person. ARIN is issuing X.509 certificates, so ARIN is acting as a Certificate Authority (CA). As such, we certify POCs hold keys that can be used to sign e-mail messages containing text and/or registration templates being sent to ARIN.
ARIN will only accept requests for certificates from POCs that are associated with a qualifying organization as an Admin or Tech POC. Qualifying organizations include any organization that has an existing signed Registration Services Agreement (RSA) with ARIN.
ARIN has created a browser-based process to make requesting a certificate as simple as possible. Please review ARIN's Cryptographic Authentication FAQ and Certification Practices Statement before requesting an X.509 certificate from ARIN. These provide more information on requestor eligiblity as well as requesting, using and managing certificates.
